Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-04-18
This privacy policy describes what information The Basketball Fans ("we") collects from visitors ("you"), how we use it, and who we share it with. It covers the site hosted at thebasketballfans.com.
Information we collect
- Usage analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 and Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure aggregate traffic patterns. This data includes approximate geographic region, referring URL, device and browser type, and the pages you visit. We do not attempt to identify individual visitors.
- Advertising cookies and identifiers. Our display-ad partners (currently Ezoic; potentially Raptive or Mediavine at higher traffic tiers) may place cookies or use similar technologies to serve relevant ads, measure performance, and detect invalid traffic. Those partners operate under their own privacy policies.
- Affiliate link tracking. Outbound affiliate links (Amazon Associates, Fanatics, SeatGeek, and others) pass an identifier to the destination when you click them. We earn a commission when you purchase.
- Contact email. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever content you include. We use this only to respond.
How we use information
- To improve the site (which pages are useful, which are missing).
- To serve relevant, non-intrusive advertising, as detailed above.
- To fulfill affiliate partnerships and track commissions.
- To respond to your email if you contact us.
Third-party services

Your choices
You can opt out of Google Analytics via the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. You can block cookies in your browser. You can use a tracker-blocking browser extension. None of these actions will impair your ability to read the site.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "last updated" date and post a notice on the homepage for at least 30 days.
